Mediaeval Style X-Men: Part 1

by Lynn

Princess Jubilee of Exonia, daughter of King Charles and Queen Lilandra sat on her window-seat, glaring outside. She had just been informed that she was to marry King Sinister of Experia. She heard her door open and somebody walk in.

"Princess Jubilation, thou shouldst listen to thy parents. They only want what・s best for ye," said Beast.

"Lord McCoy, what they・re doing isn・t for my own good, it・s for the good of Exonia. I want to marry for love, not because my parents tell me to," said Jubilee. Beast put a hand on her shoulder.

"I know that, your Highness, but we can・t have everything we want," he said.

"I know, but I just wish that my parents would listen to me for once. They never talk to me unless it・s to inform me of something. Oh, Lord McCoy. King Sinister! How could they?" Jubilee buried her face in Beast・s blue fur, sobbing. Beast held her to him, stroking her hair.

"I know, Princess, I know," he whispered.

BACK IN MY DIMENSION

Lynn sat, waiting for the other occupants of her bedroom to say something.

"I・m a princess? Tres cool!" said Jubilee.

"Lord McCoy? I suppose I could get used to the idea," said Beast.

"Why is Gambit not in it, chere?" asked Gambit.

"Shut up, Gumbo," said Wolverine.

"Yeah, shut up or I・ll make you go back to the Comic Dimension," Lynn said.

"Where you can lead your pathetic life of chasing after Rogue."

"Hey!" said Gambit.

"This is going to be so cool!" said Jubilee. "But do I *have* to marry Sinister?"

Wolverine sighed.

Princess Jubilee stood at the door. She saw someone in the shadows and suddenly Gambit, master thief, stepped out of them.

"This way, chere," he said. Jubilee nodded and they left the castle. Jubilee turned back to face it.

"Bye, Mom, Dad," she whispered, then ran after Gambit.

Beast stood at the window. He watched as Jubilee left the castle with Gambit. He hoped that she would be OK.

"May luck go with you, Jubilee," he said. He closed the curtains and went to bed, dreading what King Charles would do to him in the morning when he found out that he・d helped Jubilee escape.

Jubilee walked into the house, standing very close to Gambit.

"We・re here, chere," said Gambit. Jubilee looked around.

"Thank you, Lord Thief, for helping me," she said.

"Please, call me Gambit," said Gambit.

"And I・m Jubilee," said Jubilee. "I・d rather kiss Apocalypse on the lips than marry Sinister." Gambit made a face.

"Gambit no sure if that be a good idea, chere. You might catch a disease from him."

Jubilee grinned at Gambit. "Good point." Jubilee sat down, spreading out her skirts. Gambit eyes her for a second.

"Gambit t・ink he better go get some diff・rent clothes for you, unless you want ever・body in the kingdom to know I・m harbouring de Princess." Jubilee nodded.

"Great idea!" she said.

Gambit left the room and came back with some stuff. Jubilee looked at the pile of clothes and grinned.

"I love pink and yellow!" she said. Gambit turned around so she could change. "Um, Gambit, think you can help me here?"

"How, Jubilee?" asked Gambit.

"Can you undo my buttons. I can・t reach them." Gambit sort of blushed and turned round to help the princess. When the buttons were undone he bolted out of the room, followed by laughter.

BACK IN MY ROOM

SNIKT! / Uh-oh・ / Lynn looked beck at Wolverine and grinned.

"What・s up?" she asked.

"What the hell do you think you・re doing?" he asked.

"What? It・s my story! Go bother somebody else like that little twerp Skids." Wolverine growled and Jubilee held onto his hand tight.

"Leave her alone, Wolvie!" she said.

"Yes, darlin・," sighed Wolverine, sheathing his claws. Lynn sniffed and turned back to her computer.

"Damn X-Men. It・s my story; I・ll make them do what I want. Even if it・s Wolverine being gay!" she muttered. She shuddered at the thought of a gay Wolverine. "Glad he ain・t though. I like him the way he is."

Jubilee looked at herself in the mirror.

"I look tres cool in this outfit," said Jubilee. Gambit nodded.

"Yeah, you do," he said. Suddenly a red-haired woman with a white streak down the middle of her hair came flying in.

"Remy! The Reavers are here!" said Rogue.

"What?!" yelled Gambit.

"Reavers? What Reavers?" asked Jubilee.

"No time to explain!" Gambit, Jubilee and Rogue left the building.

Jubilee was walking behind Gambit and Rogue when she saw a guy open a portal. He beckoned to her and, without thinking about what she was doing, jumped through the portal. The guy followed her.

When they came out of the portal the guy showed her to a place where she saw a man tied to a cross. He was unconscious and guarded by a single Reaver. She nodded, knowing she had to help the man. When she turned around to talk to the man, he was gone. Jubilee shrugged and turned back to the man on the cross.

Jubilee stared at the Reaver guard, trying to think of something to do. Suddenly and idea hit her. She stood out from behind the outcrop of boulders and pointed her hands at the Reaver. A myriad of colourful sparks flew from her hands and hit the Reaver, killing him. She jumped in the air and ran to the man on the cross. She paffed the roped holding him to the cross and he fell into her arms. She winced a bit.

"Gods, you・re heavy," she said. She dragged him off and began to look after him.

MY PLACE

Lynn turned around and glared at Jubilee and Wolverine.

"Do you mind?" she asked.

"Mind what?" asked Jubilee.

"Not doing that? It never said in the comics or cartoons that you could make *that* much noise!"

"What noise?" asked Wolverine.

"Turn that TV off and quit watching the football. Football is a waste of time," said Lynn. She ignored Wolverine and Jubilee・s whines of ・Oh man!・ and shook her head. Sometimes the X-Men acted like her little brother, Steven. Right pair of babies, Wolverine and Jubilee are. Whining ・cause I hate football. Humph!

"You did *WHAT*!" yelled Xavier. Beast winced.

"I helped Princess Jubilation leave the castle, your Majesty," said Beast.

"I can・t believe this is happening. The wedding・s in 3 days!" said Xavier.

"You should have allowed the Princess to choose her own husband, Professor. She was very upset about being forced to marry that・ b*st*rd・" said Beast. The King and Queen looked at him in shock. It was very rare that Beast swore.

"Oh, my poor baby!" wailed Lilandra. "What will become of her? She might be forced into prostitution and become pregnant・ Get raped by some maniac・ Murdered・ Oh・" Lilandra broke down in tears.

"If we may, Professor, my wife and I would like to look for Princess Jubilee," said Cyclops, stepping out of the shadows with Jean.

"Yes, Professor. We・d like to help," said Jean.

"Lord and Lady Summers, you may look for the Princess," said Xavier. The 2 people nodded and left.

"Beast, go with them, please," said Lilandra.

"Yes, your Majesty," said Beast. He left the room with Cyclops and Jean. / What did I do to deserve this? / he thought.
