<Jubilee couldn't breath. Her body felt odd all over like something was covering her. Jubilee struggled to find some escape as her body screamed for air. Moving her outstretched hands she felt things move easily through her fingers. Water, her mind grasped, she was in water. She moved her legs to make her way to the surface and her feet struck something. Her whole body twisted and she felt something pulling at her. Jubilee shocked and in pain stopped. With great difficulty she opened her eyes. The water stung them and her vision blured. Wires and tubes floated in her line of vision. Jubilee looked down and saw that they were pocking out of her. Jubilee raised her hand and found the glass that rested a foot from her. She placed her palms on the glass and looked around her. She was in a glass cylinder hardly bigger than she was. Jubilee pounded on the glass screaming. A face loomed in front of her. Bastion stared at her smiling. Jubilee screamed at him and bubbles rose to the surface. Juiblee looked past Bastion...>

Jubilee stood in the kitchen and was staring off into space. The tea pot screamed on the stove and she blinked. She quickly took it off the burner and turned off the stove. Opening the cabinet she took out a cup. She wore an oversized white robe, her hand fluttered over her pocket for a second. The window was open and a cool breeze drifted in. The whole house was asleep and quiet in the early morning. Jubilee walked to the stove and poured some hot water in the cup. She emptied her packet of cocoa into it and stirred it.

She lent against the counter taking a sip. She had been awake for an hour now. She had wandered aimlessly around the house. She took another sip and heard someone walking towards the kitchen. Jubilee smiled content as she recognized the footsteps.

"Can't sleep?" Jean asked her. Jubilee looked up and saw the red head standing in the doorway. Jubilee shook her head. Jean smiled motherly to Jubilee. "Neither can I." Jean admitted.

"Do you want some cocoa?" Jubilee asked. Jean nodded graciously. Jubilee put her cup down. "Sit down, I'll get you some." She went to the cabinet and took out a cup. "What brings you out here?" Jubilee asked Jean as she emptied the packet into the cup.

Jubilee heard Jean sigh. "If I stayed in the boat house I would have woken Scot up. So I thought I'd walk over here." Jean told her pulling up a chair to the table.

Jubilee glanced back to Jean who was staring out the window. Jubilee turned back and reached into her pocket. She took out a small vile of liquid and opened the cap. She put a few drops in the cup then quickly placed the vile back in her pocket.

"Yeah, well I'd hate to see Cyke cranky." Jubilee joked as she walked over to the stove and pored the water in. She stired it then handed it to Jean. Jean smiled and took it.

"Thank-you Jubilee." Jean told her.

"No biggy." Jubilee shrugged.

Jean took a sip of cocoa and nodded to Jubilee. "Sit down. I haven't talked to you in a while." Jean told her.

Jubilee sat down beside her and watched as Jean took another sip. "Sure, that'll be nice." Jubilee told her.

Jubilee walked down the stairs in her red uniform she wore at school. She hadn't bothered to wear her yellow coat or boots. Logan was waiting for her already suited up. Jubilee searched his face and saw the lines on his mouth drawn tight. "What's wrong Wolvie?" Jubilee asked.

He glanced her way and gave her a tight smile. "Nothin' darlin'. Jean is just sick, is all." He told her as they walked down the hall to the danger room.

"She's all right isn't she?" Jubilee asked concered. Logan turned to her and his expression softened.

"She'll be fine. Don't worry. Hank said the symptoms are like the flu, it's not serious." He told her.

"She has the flu?" She aske confused.

"No. Hank doesn't know what is wrong right now. He's narrowing it down now. Don't worry he'll figure it out and Jean will be back to normal in no time." Logan told her patting her on the arm.

Jubilee nodded and seemed satisfied. They made their way to the danger room where most of the X-MEN were. The doors opened and they stepped in. Jubilee's eyes immediately fell on Marrow and Logan saw her bristle. He placed a hand on her hip and steered her to his other side. "This isn't the time." He told her under his breath. Sam gave Marrow lthe same sentiments. Cyclops who stood in the control room gave the two stares.

Jubilee looked around to find Angel, Bishop, Drake, Storm, Rogue, and of course Cannonball and Marrow. The sterile surroundings of the danger room changed into a jungle. Jubilee looked up at the canopy of green above her. Sunlight broke through the leaves in a jigsaw pattern shinning on the carpet of grass.

"Now the object of this excercice is to hone your individual talents. You are to split up and work not as a team. You are to take down each member. There will only be one of you winning this excercise. There will be *no* singling any person for vendettas or any inappropirate tactics either." Cyclops voice boomed.

Jubilee glanced at Marrow who was smiling at Jubilee. "You think it's too late for me to go see Jean instead?" Jubilee whispered to Wolverine uneasy. Wolverine patted her on the back. Everyone took off for the jungle and Jubilee stood there for a second. Sighing heavily she ducked in the heavy brush in another direction.

Jubilee was stalking in the fake jungle for a good many minutes. She had yet to come in contact with any other members. She knew where each member was without giving herself away. Jubilee heard Angel's wings flap above her and she pushed herself into a tree to cover herself. She listened for a moment as he passed then crept further into the jungle. She hardly made any noise as she moved across the uneven ground. She made sure to stay close to the trees in case she had to duck.

She heard a sound ahead and Jubilee crouched to the ground. She lay on the balls of her feet as she closed her eyes. The sound grew sharper and she made out that it was near her. Jubilee stood up slightly and took a few more steps. Up ahead she saw Bishop standing in the middle of a path. Jubilee watched him for a good many minutes until she made her way slowly to him. She was behind him in the bushes only a few steps away from him still undetected. Jubilee cut the distance between them quickly and wrapped her arms around him. Bishop started to struggle but Jubilee rested her hands on his chest. Jubilee's hands began to glow as she summoned her powers.

"What are you doing Jubilee? You know I absorb energy, your only helping me." Bishop told her. Jubilee didn't reply as more of her power passed soundlessly into him. Bishop grunted at the amount he was taking in. "Jubilee." His sentence was cut short when Jubilee let loose her full power into Bishop, his mutant body absorbed ever drop of her power. Still Bishop's body could only take so much and he quickly reached his limit. With a strangled scream he opened his arms and a blinding blast of power shot up. The tops of the trees evaporated in a flash of fire. The roof shook and Jubilee smiled as she heard the danger room alarm sound. Bishop slumped forward and Jubilee let go of him. She stepped back and bent down to see if her was dead. She heaved a sigh when she found he was just unconcious. She tried to blast him again but her powers were gone for the moment. She shrugged and walked away. She heard the chaos that sounded around her as all hell broke loose.

Storm and Angel were in the air when the blast hit. They were thrown sideways in the shock. They both tried to right themselves when a laser blasted Storm. Angel grabbed her but the force of the beam sent them spiraling out of control. They fell through the trees and hit the ground. Angel came to first and slowly got to his knees. His wings were streaked with mud and they hung oddly. He checked Storm's breathing and found she was just unconscious. The laser caught her in the back. He muttered a curse.

The alram was a constant shrill scream and the jungle began to monsoon. Rain beet down in buckets soon covering the ground and the trees swayed violently. On the ground Angel looked around confused, something had gone terribly wrong. He picked himself up and kenw he had no choice but to leave Storm where she was. He ran quickly over the terrain to the control room. Something tackled him and he was thrown to the ground. Angel stunned looked up and saw a tiger on top of him. Angel cursed loudly and tried to maneuver the cat off of him. The tiger swatted his hand and the claws sliced into his hand. The stab of pain and the large amount of blood told him instantly that the satfey inhibitors were not on. The large cat growled at Angel and raised its clawed paw. Angel yelled wordlessly.

Rogue picked up the tiger and flew a little ways a way. She tossed it on the ground roughly. It sat up after a moment and shook its head roughly. "Now get!" She yelled shaking her hands. The tiger growled and ran into the trees. Rogue flew back to where Angel was standing tying a strip of his torn costume to his wounded hand. "What the heck is going on here?" Rogue demanded.

"Storm and I were flying when a laser shot us down. She's fine but we need to get to the control room." He told her over the rain. Rogue nodded and flew over to him. She picked him up and they made their way to Cyclops.

Wolverine threw himself out of the way of the laser bolt and rolled down the hill. He raised himself up out of the muddy water. He looked and saw Cannonball lying beside him. Wolverine sat up and turned the boy over. Wolverine looked the muddy Cannonball over and saw he must have taken quite a blast. He saw the singe marks around his midsection. His breathing was steady and he wan't bleeding too bad. He heard the familar sound of Drake's powers as he joined Marrow as she delt with the lasers. He got up and went to help them.

Rogue and Angel stepped into the control room. Cyclops was furiously trying to get things under control. He didn't even glance up at the two as they walked in.

"What's going on, are we under attack?" Rogue asked.

Cyclops typed on the computer. "I'm not sure. The computer is locking me out. Someone's tampered with it." He swiched tactics when the other wasn't working.

"Sabotage." Angel said harshly.

Cyclops nodded. "It appears the energy blast set it off. I just need to shut down the room." Cyclops told them.

Jubilee walked away from Bishop. She heard laser blasts and lightning around her. She laughed as she pushed her drenched hair out of her face. "Won't be much longer until they get the situation under control." She said to herself. "Can't show up without a scratch on me." Jubilee lookd down at the steep hill bellow her, at the thick roots that pocked out of the muddy soil. Jubilee stood on the edge. "Here goes nothing." She muttered.

Jubilee threw herself off the edge and smacked into the ground. It pushed the air out of her lungs. She began to tumble down the hill and she did nothing to protect herself. She rolled to the bottom and slid a little way in the mud. Jubilee finally stopped and she was lying on her back. Her legs and arms sprawled beside her. A line of red smeared across her left temple as the rain fell onto her face.

Cyclops still sat in the control room trying to gain acess to the computer. Rogue looked out of the window and saw the chaos outside. The storm was getting worse, tress were being ripped out of the ground now. The rain was knee deep in some parts, more deeper in others. Thunder pounded in the room as lightning flashed every other second. She saw the laser blasts in the distance. As far as she knew she and Angel were the only ones out. Theh others were still in there.

"We don't have time for this." She yelled. She turned to Angel and pointed at the computer. "We need to blast it!" She yelled looked around. Angel nodded in agreement and looked to the table. One of Bishop's oversized guns lay there. He picked it up and aimed it at the computer. A blast of red energy lept at the computer and Cyclops jumped out of the way. A large boom filled the room as the computer exploded and a few more sounded then died. The computer lay blackened and sparks jumped from the wreckage. Cyclops picked himself off the floor and looked at the damage. The window was broke and they way the jungle had disappeared.

Below them they saw Marrow, Wolverine, and Drake standing side by side looking worse the wear. Cannonball was some feet away down. Storm lie unconscious by the wall where Angel had left her. Bishop lie unconscious near the middle of the room. Jubilee lay prone some distance away.

"Good God." Cyclops whispered.

"Hank, you better get down here. Now." Rogue told him on the intercom.
