Scot slowly stood up and looked intently at Logan. Logan bristled and looked hard at Scot.

"Just what are you getting at?" Snapped Logan.

Scot took a step towards Logan. "Nothing yet." He admitted. "Just that Jubilee brought Jean a glass of water with something odd in it. Soon after drinking it Jean got violently sick. Odd don't you think?" Scot asked. Logan growled and took a threatening step towards Scot. Hank sensing the way things were going stepped between the two.

"Now this is no way to ascertain how Jean became sick. No one is accusing anyone of anything." Hank spoke quickly trying to smooth out the two's rough feelings so there wouldn't be an all out brawl in his med lab.

Cyclops took a step back to his wife. He knelt beside her again and took her hand. Her face was screwed up in intense confusion and anger. "Scot. Jubilee didn't do this? How can you think that?" She asked him angrily but her voice fell short.

Scot squeezed her hand gently. "I just want to get down to the bottom of things." He stopped when he heard Logan snort. "Jean, did Jubilee give you anything else?" Jean began to shake her head then stopped.

"No, she did make me cocoa yesterday morning." She told him remembering.

"Cocoa?" Scot asked.

"I couldn't sleep so I came to the mansion. Jubilee was awake making some cocoa so she made me some." Jean told him.

"And by the time I woke up you were in the bathroom terribly sick." Scot stood up and looked to Hank. "Can you find out what's in that cup?" He asked him.

"I can run some tests on it but if this is what is alling Jean then I may not find anything. Some chemicals and poisons can go undetected if you don't know exactly what your looking for." Hank explained.

Scot nodded and walked out of the door. Logan grabbed his wrist. "Where are you going?" He demanded. Scot stared at Logan.

"To Jubilee's room. I want to ask her some questions." He told him evenly. Logan pushed Scot away roughly and cursed. "You can't say that you don't even see the connection. Jubilee has been acting odd lately. That scene with Marrow the other day for one. Jubilee brings Jean something to drink twice and on each occasion she's violently sick. We can't find anything wrong with her and you find something odd in the cup. Jean's cup not Jubilee's." Scot said getting louder.

"The cup could have been laced. She might not have known, your not saying anything useful." Logan yelled back.

"Today we found out we have a traitor and we have a desastor in the danger room. Bishop is in a coma. Someone broke into the computer and set it up. She has the codes and she knows how." Scot shouted.

"Now! You know Jubilee, she would never do that. She couldn't! There's an explaination for this. Someone's setting her up." Logan shouted. His hands flexed and he fought the impulse to unsheath his claws. The two men stared at each other for a long moment then stepped away. "There has to be an explaination." Logan said in a low voice.

"I hope so." Scot breathed and they walked to Jubilee's room in scilence.

Jubilee was wide awake in the early moring of four in the morning. She had changed out of her hospital gown into a pair of jeans and a simple white shirt. She walked down the dark hallway that led to the basement. Her easy pace faltered slightly as she felt a presence behind her. She stopped and she knew someone was there. Jubilee's heart pounded and pulled her balled hands to her chin. She could hear footsteps and hear their indistinct voice. The whispering grew louder to a constant titering. She felt them come closer as warm breath fell on the back of her neak. In a swift movement Jubilee spun around and stared down an empty hallway.

Jubilee gave one small laugh and her body shook. She lent against a small table next to her. She closed her eyes tight at the images that crashed around her head. Beads of sweet appeared around her temples. Her chest rose quickly and she grasped the sides of the table until her nails bit into the wood. Her breathing slowed and slowly the tension from her body left her. She opened her eyes and found herself staring at a mirror. She gazed at her reflection numbly.

She rose a hand and touched the white bandage that was still on her left temple. She pealed it off slowly and it came off easily. Jubilee glanced at the blood that spotted the bandage. She looked up at the mirror and saw there was no mark on her face. Her finger tips traced the area and she smiled. More sure now she walked down the hallway, her pace was quick as she strode down the hall. She reached the basement area where the main power generator was.

The room where the generatior was held was fairly large. The room was plain and covered in metal paneling. A glass plate window stood on the far side of the room. Jubilee walked over to it and stared down it. A pit shot straight down for several stories, the darkness swalling the bottom. The alien technology that powered the mansion lay there. Jubilee's hand sparked close to the window illuminating the pit for a few yards.

She went to the closet and hauled out the heavy suit. She unzipped the back and climbed in fitting her small feet in the boots. She shugged her arms and hands into the gloves. Reaching up she fumbled with the hood and she ducked her head into it. Reaching behind her back she felt for the zipper in her oversized gloves. After working with it for some time the zipper yielded and closed. The suit that easily fit Beast hung off her but it did serve its purpose. Taking high steps so she wouldn't trip she walked to the window. She undid the latch and climbed through. Her feet easily found the ladder and she hung onto it as she shut the door. Jubilee feeling each step went down further into the abyss.

Logan twisted the door knob and walked into Jubilee's room. The room was dark but he knew she wasn't there. His shoulders sagged and his stomach turned. Scot flipped on the light and his eyes fell on the made bed. He turned to Logan.

"Where is she?" He asked.

"I don't know Cyke but she isn't here." Logan snapped. Scot left the room and he scanned the room for anything out of place, anything different. He saw her robe lying on the back of a chair. He picked it up and felt something heavy in the pocket. He reached in and took out a small vile about two inches long, it held some sort of clear liquid. Putting the robe down he undid the cap. The sent was more strong than he smelled before because there was more of it. The sent however, was the same he had smelled in the cup. He put the cap on and slid it into his pocket. He swallowed hard as he looked around.

"Find anything?" Scot asked walking back in.

Logan shook his head as he walked out of the room. He spun on his heels and glared at Scot. "You've already made up your mind haven't you?" Logan asked harshly. "What if something's wrong with her? What if someone's done something to her to make her do it?" Logan demanded.

Scot didn't say anything for a moment. "I know Jubilee wouldn't do anything like this but from the evidence it appears like she does have something to do with it. We *need* to find her. You may be right, perhaps someone is making her do this. A psychic or a shapeshifter is impersonating her. Anything is possible but he have to find her Logan." Scot told him.

Whatever Logan was about to say was cut off as the lights in the hallway snapped off. They heard a curse from downstairs from Bobby. Logan looked down the stairs and saw the lights were off there too. "Powers out!" Came Sam's annoyed voice from somewhere. Logan heard Scot move next to him.

"Don't even." Logan warned.

"We need to find her. So why don't we cheek the main power generator?" Scot asked. Logan glared at him in the dark.

Logan and Scot reached the room and Logan hadn't said a word. He had picked up Jubilee's sent and it led right to where they were going. He hadn't told Cyclops yet. Inside the room it was eerily silent and dark. Cyclops grabbed a flashlight from under the table and he shinned it around the room. The beam of light broke a path through the darkness. The light fluttered around the room resting on differnet objects. The beam fell on a crumpled suit that lay in the middle of the floor. He walked to the window and swept the light over the pit.

"There's no telling what kind of damage there is at the moment. I'll get Bobby and Sam down here to get the power up." He siad moving the light around the pit. "She was here wasn't she?" Cyclops asked him quietly. "You can smell her here?" Cyclops prompted. Finally he heard Logan heave a heavy sigh.

"Yeah, I do." He said regretfully.

"Anyone else." Cyclops asked him.

"No, no one." Logan admitted.

Cyclops turned to him. "I hope your right. I hope something is causing her to do this and that we can help her." For the first time his face revealed some of the pain he felt. "I don't think any of us could take it if she were doing this on her own." He told the other man. Logan didn't respond.

He turned and made a gesture to Cyclops. "C'mon lets go find her." He said gruffly.

Jubilee walked quickly down the hall as she spotted Storm. "Storm." Jubilee called brightly. Storm turned to the small girl and smiled.

"Aren't you supposed to be in bed young lady?" Storm asked her.

"Aren't you?" Jubilee countered. Storm laughed.

"Good point. Unfortunately all of us do not have the opportunity." She told Jubilee. Jubilee looked at Storm concerned.

"Yeah, it has been busy lately. I mean with someone programming the danger room to go hay wire and most of the team being injured. Jean's in the med lab sick and Bishop is in a coma." Jubilee sighed. "Now the powers out." Jubilee looked around the living room and she started laughing. She looked over to Storm who had paled slightly. Jubilee covered her mouth. "I'm sorry. You don't get what's so funny with the whole thing." Jubilee said smiling all over.

Storm looked at Jubilee in disbelief. "Nothing is funny about this." She told her. For the first time she took in the insane cold look in Jubilee's eyes. The way her whole body was strung tight. She looked to Jubilee's temple and saw the perfect skin where the bandage should have been.

Jubilee giggled again. "It is from where I'm standing." She sighed. "It's almost a shame that I have to kill you...almost." Jubilee told her. Storm took a step back.

"Jubilee." Storm started.

"Now now. None of that. Bishop did that when I dumped all my power into him and he let off that light show." Jubilee told her bringing up her hands. Storm tried to protect herself but she wasn't fast enough. Jubilee let loose enough power to throw her across the room. She heard several footsteps as people ran down the hall to her. <The guards ran down the hallway getting closer to her as her feet hit the ground. She tried to outrun them but her body was weak and broken. They were getting closer.> Jubilee blinked at the memory and make a small gasp.

Warren, Marrow, and Rogue ran into the room. "Jubilee what happened?" Warren asked her looking at Storm.

"This." Jubilee told him as she let loose all her powers and directed them at Rogue. The concentrated blast hit Rogue with its full force and she shot through the roof. Jubilee laughed and turned to the two remaining X-MEN. "Confused? Don't be I'll spell it out for you. I'm the traitor, your the victims, you get to die now." She told them brightly. Marrow roared and threw herslef at Jubilee. Jubilee smirked and shot her down. Marrow collapsed to the ground and clutched her stomach. "Your next Tweedy." Jubilee told him sweatly.

"I don't think so darlin'." Logan told him from behind. Jubilee turned and saw Logan and Cyclops standing there. She smiled and Logan had to remind himself that she had just seriously injured two of his teammates. He saw the cold glint in her eykes and the insanity that shown there. "Why darlin'? Why are ya' doin' this?" He asked her with desperation in his voice.

Jubilee moved her lithe body in a restless gesture. "Because I have to." She told him gently looking as innocent as her years. Logan swallowed hard as he stared at her. Beside himself her took a step towards her.

"Why do you have to?" He asked her gruffly. Jubilee smiled that smile he had burned into his mind.

"You don't get it." She said quietly. "But you will." She promised him and everyone in the room shivered.

"What did you give to Jean?" Cyclops demanded. Jubilee turned to him contempt written on ever inch of her face.

"Poison." She said as if she were board.

"What kind?" He demanded. Jubilee rolled her eyes and told him. He nodded taking in the information that would save his wife.

"I gave the same thing to Bishop so he wouldn't wake up." She told them running an absent hand through her hair. The lights snapped on in the room as the power turned on. Logan watched the way she flinched.

"Who hurt you Jubilee, who took over your mind? I know that this isn't you." Logan told her taking another step towards her. Jubilee's hand glowed for a second then dimmed.

She sighed again. "Your getting close." She admitted. "Your right. I'm not Jubilee." She told him opening her arms. "This isn't even Jubilee's body. It just looks like it." She told him. <She screamed through the water and bubbles floated to the surface. She beet her hands against the glass. She saw Bastion staring at her smiling. She looked past him...she was herself lying on a table asleep.>

"What are you talking about, if your not Jubilee then where is she?" Logan snarled as he took yet another step forward.

Jubilee stared up at the short man and her lips curled in a slight sneer. She shrugged. "I don't know. She may not even be alive. She was the last time I saw her but that really was a long time ago." She said playfully. Logan's eyes widened and he was right in front of her. "How long have you been here?" He asked quietly as if he were afraid to ask or that she might actually tell him.

She smiled again and it tore at him. "Ever since you brought me back from Bastion's base. You found me free and running out in the desert when you were about to break into the place. You really don't think it would be that easy? That he would have simply let her escape." She paused letting the information sink in. "He made a clone of her, an exact replica." She gestured to herself. "He made me. I even got her memories and up until recently even *I* didn't know what I was. He placed fake memories into my mind, about the interrogations and my "escape". None of that really happened though. Lately her real memories about the place started to seep through. So I learned who I was, what I was. I also remembered what I was sent here to do." She told him forgetting about the rest of the room.

"To kill us." Logan finished.

"Yep and it does look like I failed. We're not big on faliure." She shook her head sadly. "It doesn't matter though. You'll never find her. You will *never* find out what happened to her. So at least I'll be able to make some victory out of this disaster." She brought her hands up quickly to blast him. Logan took a step back and instinctualy drew his claws. He stood on the balls of his feet every inch of him looking threatening. Jubilee's hands sparked and she shot Cyclops over Logan's shoulder. Cyclops hit the wall and Logan grabbed one of her hands and twisted her sideways. She drew up up legs and kicked him in the stomach. He released her as he stumbled backwards.

He righted himself and brought his hands out to stop her from any other attack. Instead of falling back she threw herself forward. Logan tried to step back but couldn't move fast enough. Jubilee threw herself into his claws and both hands struck her in her stomach. Her mouth opened wide but she didn't make a sound. She grasped his wrists tightly so she would fall. His knuckles rested against her tight stomach as his claws lay hidden beneath. Her heard fell forward and she held her breath. Logan stood shocked and stared at Jubilee.

Abruptly she pushed against his wrists and his claws slid out of her. She wrapped her arms around her stomach and fell to her knees. Logan fell beside her and wrapped her in his arms. Jubilee's head rested on his lap and her head rolled to see him. Drops of blood streaked down her mouth and he was amazed that she was still smiling. It was more of an insane smug grin. She coughed as her hands tugged at her shirt, the whole front of it was covered in blood.

"There's a marker hidden in my DNA. Its the proof you need to know that I'm not her." She said weakly.

"Why do you want me to know that?" He asked barely able to get the words out.

She laughed and it turned into a small cough. "I want you to know that she's out there somewhere. She was there when you got me. You had the chance to save her then and you bought into Bastion's lies. You didn't save her, you'll never save her. I want you to know that." Her eyes fluttered and she coughed blood some of it falling onto his hand. She gave one last shaky breath then she was slilent. Logan held her close as he stared at the prone figure of the girl her cherished like his daughter.

Cyclops, Marrow, and Strom, made their way to the med lab to tell Hank what was wrong with his patents. Angel stayed behind and stood in the doorway. He watched Logan cradle Jubilee's body with amazing care. He shook his head, no not Jubilee's body. A clone of Jubilee, an advanced version of his drones. Logan hung his head for a moment and Warren looked away as the old man shed a few tears in the horrible realization that she was out there somewhere. Warren felt his eyes sting also. When he looked back she saw Logan picking himself up and he still held the body.

"She isn't dead, she's out there somewhere. I know it. All I have to do is find her. If its the last thing I do, I'll find her." Logan swore to Warren darkly as he walked from the room still holding her.
