Vampires in the Closet: Part 2

by XMenNova

This is the second part of a 5 part story.  It would probably be best if you read the first part first.  It would help A LOT!  Also, I don't own these characters and probably best I didn't.  But I just hope you enjoy and remember this is a cross over!

Jubilee sat in the back seat of the car.  Willow drove like an expert.  Buffy sat there sharpening what looked like wooden stakes.  Jubilee was almost afraid to speak when the car stopped at a gas station.  She had gotten so used to flying an subsonic jet that this car seemed like it was crawling at a slow pace.  Willow got out to pump gas and Buffy pulled up the carpet in the front of the car to reveal a secret compartment to hide all her wonderfully sharp obejcts.  The sun had been up for about seven hours.  Jubilee was somewhat uncomfortable knowing that there were vampires out in the world.  All she's ever worried about were mutants, giant robots, and meddling government officials.  Now she has to worry about the blood sucking undead.  Finally she spoke.

"Why am I so important?"  Jubilee asked quietly.

"Don't know.  But Angel seems to think you're in need of protection," Buffy answered back.

"But I'm with the X-Men.  They can pretty much handle everything."

"Have you ever dealt with a vampire coming at you and then you stake him and he magically turns to dust?"

"Well... no."

"Then I don't think there's a class at that school that teaches it either."

"Well... no, but Xavier is a telepath and he can control everyone's mind and..."

"The problem with vampires is.  They really don't have a brain to use.  They have a demon inside of them that make them do everything.  Eat, sleep, fight for your life.  That's about the extent of their skills."

"But I saw Interview With A Vampire, and I know the vampires weren't evil, just misunderstood."

"Well, face it, Jubilee, these aren't Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise we're talking about.  These are the guys who crawl out of graves and try to kill you whether or not you have a lot of money."

"How can they be so cruel?  And why are you friends with Angel?  He's a vampire."

"Angel is different.  Instead of having a demon for a soul.  He has his human soul.  It makes him more useful."

"Useful?  How useful?  Like you two used to have something now you don't?"  Jubilee went on.

"VERY useful... and yes, we did have something."

"Did?  As pasted tense?"

"Um... You want anything from inside Buffy?"  Willow chirped in, sensing Buffy's rising anger.

"No.  But thanks Will,"  Buffy replied.

Meanwhile back at the mansion.

Wolverine strode into the mansion puffing on his cigar.  Something was different.  Jubilee.  Either she was gone or visiting with someone more important then him.  Okay, so that meant she was missing.  He went into the kitchen where Jean and Professor Xavier were conversing.

"Jubilee," he started, "where is she?"

"Jubilee is gone.  We don't know where she went.  Xavier is thinking about searching for her on Cerebra."  Jean replied.

"Logan, we mustn't panic or become frustrated--"

"YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE SHE WENT???" Logan roared.

"Logan, we are going to find her."  Jean comforted.

"Wait,"  Logan sniffed the air, "two girls were here.  One wore Liz Taylor and the other had an odd scent, similar to dust, blood, and Adidas for Women."  He darted out of the room and rushed upstairs.  He opened Jubilee's bedroom door, and found yet another scent.  A dead scent.  He went rummaging through her things.  The smell became stronger when he came closer to the closet.  He ripped the door open and a small crucifix fell out with a letter attached.  He read the letter.  His eyes seemed to burn the paper as he read it.  Before the crucifix could fall to the floor, Wolverine was out of the room.  He was soon outside and on his motorcycle.  With a rev of the engine and a pealing of the tire, Logan was gone in search of Jubilee.

Outside the Sunnydale City Limits

Jubilee had fallen asleep in the back seat.  She was curled up in a little ball.  Buffy watched the sun get closer to the horizon.  Willow knew that time was fading for the demonic creatures to start popping up from the ground.  Buffy had only one thought pulsing through her mind:  was Dawn all right?  Buffy knew Xander would be dropping by to help her with anything she needed.  Soon the sun showed off it's last radiant colors and hide itself on the other side of the world.  Buffy clutched a stake, and inhaled.

"Here we go!" She said.
