Vampires in the Closet: Part 1

by XMenNova

Disclaimer: Okay, right off the bat, this would take place before Season 7 on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And for all the Buffy watchers this would also mean Willow does have powers and is not evil. For all you X-Men readers and Jubilee fans, Jubilee is now living in the X-Mansion after the whole X-Corps thing in Paris. Oh yeah. I don't own Buffy characters or any X-Men characters, so read and enjoy.

The wind was blowing something fierce and Jubilee's bedroom window was open. Distant thunder woke her. She stubbled through her cluttered bedroom, and reached for the window latch. She reached and reached, but the latch seemed to be gone. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and searched for the window latch. Hoping her eyes did not deceive her, Jubilee saw no window latch. Instead, she saw a chunk of the metal missing where the latch should have been. She become extremely worried, and did the only thing she could think of at the moment; she screamed for Logan.

"WWWWWOOOOOLLLLLVVVVVIIIIIEEEEE!!!!!" she bellowed. She listened for his rushing footsteps. The halls were quiet. No squeaking floor boards. Not a single sound permeated the halls. The air had a slight chill to it, hinting that it might rain any second. She decided to close the window. She reached for the other window. Suddenly, something grabbed her hand. Before she could even scream, some form leapt inside her room and covered her mouth. The body was large and masculine. There was a slight warmth to it, even though the skin was ice cold.

"Shh!" the mystery man whispered, "I'm not going to hurt you, but I can't let you wake everyone else." His voice was deep and held a little Californian accent. But there was no anger or fear in his voice, it was just calm. He was not trying to kill her or hurt her, but he was hiding. She decided to take evasive action. She held up her right hand to where his face might have been and fired. Expecting to hear a loud groan and him letting go of her, the figure stood still and quiet and never moved an inch.

"Hey, quit that," he demanded, "fireworks don't work on vampires."

"Mammyers?" Jubilee repeated through the hand.

"Yeah vampires. You know the undead. We hate crosses, garlic, holy water. We sleep during the day, and walk at night."

Jubilee struggled to get loose but she didn't prevail. Soon he let her go, and she twirled around to catch his face. Pale skin, dark brown eyes, stiff, pointy brown hair. And his body was like that of a marble statue. All under a pair of black pants, black sweater, and a leather duster.

"My name is Angel." He said. Jubilee nodded as in confirmation, and then closed her eyes and passed out.

******

Jubilee jerked up in her bed. She surveyed the room: a closed window held together with a rubber band, stuffed animals and clothes tossed all over the place, and herself in her own warm comfy bed. She could not forget that guy in her room. Was he really there? Was he a vampire? And was he cute or what?! She got up stepped on something. Something cold and wet. She looked down and saw a metal crucifix lying on the floor with a note attached. She picked them both up and read the note.

Jubilee, I must warn you to not go out at night, nor must you trust anyone. Someone may come to your mansion today. Please do NOT warn anyone about me being in your room last night. The X-Men wouldn't understand me or anything pertaining to me. Look, I'm sending someone over today to talk to you. She goes by the name of Buffy. She may have a friend with her. But you can trust her, and I hope that last night wasn't too traumatizing for you. Rest well and I hope you relax.

Signed- Angel

She looked at the crucifix and then back at the note. She read it again. And again. And again.

"My gosh, he even writes sexy!" She giggled. After that she hide the letter and the cross in her closet. She hurried downstairs of the X-Mansion to go to breakfast. Most of the students were in class by now, so she had the whole kitchen to herself. She jogged into the kitchen only to see Xavier and Jean sitting at the table with a blonde and a redhead. All four of them turned to look at her.

"Um ... hi," Jubilee tried to say without sounding suspicious.

"Ah, Jubilee," Xavier started, "this is Buffy Summers and Willow Rosenburg. They are modeling agents. They are here to talk to you about some project you are working on called 'Angel'."

"A-Angel?" Jubilee stammered.

"Yes, Angel," the blonde girl restated. "I'm Buffy. And you are Jubilee the model he was talking so much about."

"Um... Buffy couldn't we talk some where else, " the redhead pointed to Jean and Xavier who both had a semi-glazed look over their eyes.

"Yeah, Jubilee let's go talk," Buffy gestured. The three of them walked out of the room into the foyer. Buffy walked in front and the redhead, Willow, brought up the rear. Jubilee walked in the middle like she was about to be sent off for an execution.

"Okay what is this all about?" Jubilee asked as the three of them stopped in the middle of the foyer.

"Look, Jubilee, Angel called me and told me I needed to come and talk to you. I haven't the foggiest clue why, but he seems to think you're in danger of some sort. Look there are something's you need to know."

"How did you guys get by Xavier without him knowing why you were here?" Jubilee asked.

"Oooh!" chirped Willow, "That would be me." Jubilee looked over Buffy's shoulder at the redhead with her hand held up high.

"And how did that occur?" Jubilee asked raising an eyebrow.

"Oh, I'm a witch. I used a glamour which cloud his mind so we would actually appear as talent scouts. It's really easy to do, you just--"

"Sorry to interrupt Willow, but we gotta cut to the chase," Buffy said looking firmly at Jubilee, "Angel is a trusted friend of ours and whatever he thinks we should do, we'll for him. Now he told us to get you out of here and make for the hills."

"But I just can't leave. I gotta pack, eat breakfast, and--"

"We can do that on the way."

"Yeah the spell is wearing off and soon the Professor will see us as we really are."

Buffy grabbed Jubilee's arm, and the three of them we're off before anyone could say good-bye. In a few short minutes Xavier would come back from the spell. Soon he would not remember anything about Buffy and Willow dropping by and Jubilee's departure.
